Women's Pelvic Health
Women's pelvic health physiotherapy provides specialised care to address a variety of conditions affecting women, such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, back pain, prenatal/post natal recovery, sexual dysfunction and pelvic organ prolapse. Through personalised assessment and treatment plans, women's health physio focuses on optimising the pelvic floor and enhancing overall well-being.
I think we have all been guilty at times by putting our problems on the back burner or making comments such as 'it's normal'. for example urinary leaking is common but it's certainly not normal.
As part of the comprehensive assessment a vaginal examination is often very beneficial. This enables me to thoroughly understand what is contributing to your symptoms and develop treatment plans. Understandably women can find this daunting but with my empathetic approach I try to make you feel as comfortable as possible. Patients are required to fully consent and have the right to withdraw at any time.

Hands on treatment
I use expert, hands-on treatment to help facilitate rehab, such as soft tissue work, muscle activation techniques along with the use of adjuncts to optimise your results.

Active rehabilitation
Where possible, I get patients to actively engage with rehab keeping movements functional, practical and goal orientated. Let's be honest, we don't lay down all day?!
Pelvic floor muscle training tailored to your assessment will be provided along with other forms of exercise that will aid in your rehab.

Education
Patients need to understand their bodies and the way it works in order to make long term changes. I find this to be an integral part of their journey as well evidence based practice. I use a variety of props and models to keep it engaging and visual.
